Links to Tree Stories Online The links here cover a variety of tree tales from around the world funny and wondrous, educational and consoling, mythic and mundane. The quality of the material varies tremendously. Some, like those in Section I, are from contemporary storytellers, posted at their websites. Others are found at websites of teachers or museum programs, tied in with lesson plans. Still others appeared originally in old-fashioned collections and are presented in somewhat outdated language. When exploring these links, keep in mind that in retelling a tale, it is always advisable to look for more than one source and also to do some research into the culture of origin. Beware of material that has been watered down. Find ways to retell the stories in your own voice. You may also use of the Search function to narrow down the stories by country of origin, type of tree, thematic category. Note: Despite an ongoing attempt to monitor this collection, some links may have become inactive. Have a new link to suggest?
